Onlangs werd bekend dat John de Mol zelf de hoofdrol gaat spelen in een kopie van het tv format The Apprentice . In Hire or Fire gaat De Mol bij Pro Sieben in Duitsland op zoek naar een creatieve directeur voor zijn bedrijf.
Het Duitse RTL heeft echter de rechten van het originele format The Apprentice. En de Duitse megabakker Heiner Kamps (foto) wordt de Duitse Trump. De winnaar krijgt een topjob aangeboden bij de luchtvaarmaatschappij van Kamps.
In Nederland heeft RTL de rechten van The Apprentice. Sowieso wordt eerste de Amerikaanse versie uitgezonden. Gezocht wordt nu naar de Nederlandse Donald Trump .

FremantleMedia’s German production outfit, Grundy Light Entertainment, has tapped former football manager Reiner Calmund to fill Donald Trump’s shoes in the local version of The Apprentice for RTL.
The 11-episode Big Boss is scheduled to air this fall on RTL. In a slight variation on the U.S edition-in which the winner nabs a six-figure-job within the Trump organization-the winner of the series will receive start-up investment for his or her own company. Should the winner decline that money, Calmund will help him or her secure a job.
Format rights to the hit NBC show from Mark Burnett have also been sold to the U.K., Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Croatia, South Africa, the Middle East, Israel, Brazil, the Netherlands and Greece.
